Movements

Pioneering Watch Calibres

Our classic timepieces are assembled around a highly-reliable movement to give you the ability to maintain the watch with us directly or with another service.

The Ronda calibre Nº 513S is an analogue quartz movement, assembled in Switzerland.

It is produced in-house by high-speed automatic assembly lines and undergoes strict quality checks to ensure long-lasting design.

The component includes repairable metal clockwork with a very powerful stepper motor and fixed pulse.

Materials

Type 316L Stainless Steel

With its extra-low carbon content and added Molybdenum, type 316L stainless steel is incredibly strong and extremely resistant to corrosion from seawater or acidic liquids.

It’s also magnetic resistant, unlike the general-use stainless steel grade of 201 or 304L.

We select 316L as the choice of material to provide affordable, unique classic timepieces without ever having to compromise on quality.

Every watch is built with British and imported parts and assembled in our workshop.

What Our Followers Say

When it comes to our watches, we always want to hear what our followers think.

August 16, 2017

I purchased the Nº 1934 green dress watch as a gift to myself as I’ve never really owned a time piece that had much more purpose than simply telling the time. W. T. Author’s watches are more than just a timepiece, they have a history and a story to tell with each model. After months of looking through the range on the W.T. Author website, I finally decided to go with the Nº 1934 as soon as it was released in September 2016 and purchased #08 of 25 which gave it even more personal value to me. The full service from Jon and Sam has been exceptional from first contacting the guys, through purchasing to after care service. The watch arrives in a beautifully presented box and you get a real sense for how much pride they have taken in designing, building and sending the watch. I’m sure I’ll be buying a few more products from W. T. Author in the very near future!
