Chapter 7: Nº 1968 Motor Racing Watches
The final blueprints for the new collection of motor racing watches are complete and prototypes for this year’s model are being built.
This Friday, 18 April at 09:00 WT Author launches its seventh collection: Nº 1968. Deposits of £50 will be accepted from Friday but you can view the new models right now. VIEW Nº 1968 COLLECTION.
The collection will be inspired by watches from 1960’s motor racing and utilises colour from the 1968 World Championship season’s starting grid.
There are 12 watches to match the 12 races that year. 10 of which will be available to reserve.
9 designs will be limited to 52 watches. 1 design will be limited to 27 watches: Nº 1968 White utilises a new movement introduced to our collection this year – the Citizen / Miyota caliber 8217 automatic (also available on Nº 1968 Gold, Green and Black).
If a Nº 1968 deposit is placed, and the remaining balance is cleared by Friday, 13 September 2019 (when the usual pre-order campaign launches), you will be automatically entered into the LIVE draw to win a Nº 1968 Yellow, a watch so limited that only 3 will be built. This will be the only chance to own one.
The LIVE draw will take place Monday, 14 October 2019. Details will follow.
The response to initial designs for Nº 1968 across social media and in the real world has been overwhelming. So much so that deposits at exhibitions have already started being accepted based on products that only existed as an idea. This couldn’t go on. So something was done about it.

If you would like to reserve a specially numbered item (be it #1, #13 or the last from the production line) we ask that the additional supplement is placed with the deposit to guarantee your order. This also extends to the purchase of an additional watch band if specified. The product page will guide you through both these instances.

Custom Build – the new service by WT Author launches right now. This is an opportunity to design your own one-of-a-kind Nº 1968 with WT Author.
Availability is extremely limited and when all slots are booked Custom Build will close until 2020.

Charity Auction
Similarly to 2018, 1 watch will be auctioned in aid of a nominated charity. This year Nº 1968 Scarlet has been selected to raise money for Mission Motorsport (supporting wounded, injured and sick, serving and veteran soldiers). It will run from Monday, 4 – Friday, 8 November 2019 on our official eBay account where ALL proceeds will go directly to the cause. Last year, Nº 1953 Red raised £2,080 for the Royal British Legion’s Wem Poppy Appeal taking their grand total to £10,711!
