Those with their eyes on the prize this week, will have seen the culmination of our many months of hard work when we launched our Chapter 3 luxury British watch for the discerning gent, the ‘NO.1929’.
Every September since our debut collection in 2013, we have launched an annual PRE-ORDER SCHEME solely dedicated to our latest series of British luxury watches for men. And of course this year was and is no different as our followers are able to take advantage of £50 off from all the newest items. Available to every single one of our worldwide followers, the hugely successful pre-order scheme held annually throughout September will showcase our most innovative series of very limited timepieces yet, with prices starting at just £300.
W.T. Author’s new collection ‘NO. 1929‘ features British luxury cushion watches for men in the brand’s signature four colour ways. Set 15 years after Author’s second collection, ‘No. 1929‘ draws inspiration from the period leading up to the Wall Street Crash: a time in history when Western society was seemingly nearer to the final triumph over poverty than ever before.
Evolving upon the firmly established aesthetics of Author’s signature silhouette, the brazed lugs take on a more contemporary look with our modified 20 mm handmade leather strap. The dial utilises polished numbers taking influence directly from 1920’s era cushion watches with a beautifully etched guilloché centre pattern. The minute track is enhanced with Author’s unique “tuning fork” indices, and traditionally formed custom-made hands complete the dial. The watch has been modernised with the beautiful “casino chip” enamel screw down case back, a signature red aluminium crown embossed with the brand’s iconic trademark. Each style has been designed and hand-finished exclusively by W. T. Author in Britain and is strictly limited to 125.
One of the most exciting additions to this years flurry, is our very special black edition. To be produced in stainless steel 42mm and limited to only 100 pieces, with a Citizen 9015 Automatic Movement, a first for us! It is fair to say that it’s always an incredibly frantic day in the workshops when Author’s pre-order day rears it’s head and we’re so pleased that 2015’s ‘Black Wednesday’ was no different. What is great to confirm is that there are still several of our particularly SPECIAL NUMBERS available, however these will not doubt get snapped up quickly over the coming days, so if you have the intention of getting your hands one, do ACT FAST!
Lastly, as blog insiders, we wanted to give you a sneak peek of just one of the bespokely made elements that will be inside all purchases; our limited edition screen print, individually signed by the W. T. AUTHOR TEAM. As with every other year thus far and proceeding, each element inside our boxes (including our boxes themselves!) is uniquely designed to be in keeping with the period from where inspiration for the watch is drawn.
